Saint Lucia To Host 2021 Rotary District Conference
In Saint Lucia, for over half a century, men and women alike have taken on the mantle of Service above Self.
This has been occasioned in an organized way, through Rotary.
Presently, Rotary Clubs on island have combined their efforts, to execute the annual Rotary 7030 District Conference slated to run from April 16th – 24th 2021.
Speaking to the mammoth task that this presents in the middle of a pandemic, District Conference Chair Konrad Wagner said that helping and organizing the District Conference is one of the most interesting experiences.
He said he is looking forward to a really really exciting never seen before virtual district conference 2021 here in Saint Lucia.
Across the Caribbean, Rotary is led by the District Governor, whose responsibility is, among other things, to represent Rotary International, and to drive the business of Rotary with over 2300 Rotarians representing 73 clubs across 17 countries.
Clubs stretch from St. Kitts in the north to Trinidad in the south.
Every year, clubs in each district host an annual District Conference, where Rotarians, and the younger Rotaractors and Interactors come together to gain insights into Rotary, and for other business, generally interacting for over a week of events in country.
This year, because of the pandemic, the conference has been forced to go virtual, however, the host country is Saint Lucia.
According to Rotary District Governor Lisle Chase, service and service delivery in the time of a pandemic calls for creativity and adaptability.
For his part, Leathon Khan, the 54th President of the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia said he is supremely confident that district conference 2021 will be a tremendous success.
“What an exciting and interesting time to be a Rotarian,” Khan declared.
Meanwhile, Trudy Glasgow, President of the Rotary Club of Gros Islet, said it is a double pleasure to be serving this year.
“We are really looking forward to a wonderful district conference experience,” she stated.
